MiMoCode CLI Installation and TreeRouter Configuration

Prerequisites#

Before you begin, make sure that:
You have a Windows computer and can open PowerShell or CMD.
Node.js and npm are installed.
You have created an API key in TreeRouter.
You know which model IDs are available to the group associated with your API key.
If you have not created an API key, refer to the official TreeRouter guide: Quick Start: Calling the Large Model API
If you are unsure whether Node.js and npm are installed, run the following commands in PowerShell or CMD:
If both commands display version numbers, Node.js and npm are installed correctly.
You can find model IDs in the Model Marketplace in the TreeRouter console. Make sure the model ID you intend to use is available to the group associated with your current API key.

1. Install MiMoCode CLI#

Open PowerShell or CMD and run:
If MiMoCode CLI is already installed, skip this step.

2. Start MiMoCode#

Open PowerShell or CMD and navigate to your project directory.

Enter the following command and press Enter:

On first launch, MiMoCode asks whether you trust the current workspace.
After confirming that this is your own project directory, select Yes, I trust this folder and press Enter.

When the MiMoCode main interface appears, the application has started successfully.

3. Sign In and Add a Custom Provider#

Note: MiMoCode currently cannot import or switch 4SAPI configurations automatically through CC Switch or ccswitch. Follow the steps below to add + Custom provider manually through MiMoCode's /login flow.

Enter /login in MiMoCode and press Enter.

In the provider list, use the arrow keys or mouse wheel to find + Custom provider.

Select + Custom provider and press Enter to begin adding the TreeRouter connection details.

4. Enter the TreeRouter Connection Details#

MiMoCode will prompt you for six configuration values in sequence. After entering each value, press Enter to submit it.

4.1 Enter the Provider ID#

Enter TreeRouter, or another name of your choice, and press Enter.

4.2 Enter the Display Name#

Enter TreeRouter, or another name of your choice, and press Enter.

4.3 Enter the Base URL#

Enter the following URL and press Enter:

4.4 Enter the API Key#

Paste the API key created in the TreeRouter console and press Enter.
Important: Your API key is sensitive information. Do not include it in screenshots or share it with anyone.

4.5 Enter the First Model ID#

Enter the model ID you want to use, for example:
claude-opus-4-8
The model ID must be available to the group selected when the API key was created.
If you are unsure which model ID to enter, check the 4SAPI Model Marketplace. Do not enter a provider name, model display name, or group name in this field.

4.6 Enter the First Model Name#

The model name can normally match the model ID entered in the previous step, for example:
claude-opus-4-8

5. Select the Model and Verify the Connection#

After all six values have been entered, MiMoCode returns to the model selection list.

Select the model you just added, such as claude-opus-4-8, and press Enter.

After returning to the MiMoCode main interface, enter a simple question to test the connection.
If the model responds normally, TreeRouter has been configured successfully.

Troubleshooting#

mimo Is Not Recognized as a Command#

MiMoCode CLI may not have been installed correctly, or npm's global command directory may not be included in your system's PATH environment variable.
Run the installation command again. After installation, close the terminal and open a new PowerShell or CMD window.

The API Key Does Not Work#

Make sure the complete API key was copied and that its associated group contains the model ID you entered.

Can I Configure MiMoCode with CC Switch or ccswitch?#

No. MiMoCode currently requires you to add + Custom provider manually through /login. It cannot directly reuse a CC Switch or ccswitch configuration.

The Model Does Not Respond or MiMoCode Reports That It Does Not Exist#

Check the following:
Base URL is set to https://treerouter.com/v1.
First model id exactly matches an available model ID in the TreeRouter console.
The current API key has permission to use that model.
