Claude Code Desktop Installation and TreeRouter Configuration

1. Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure that:

You have a working TreeRouter account.

Claude Desktop is installed or ready to be installed.

CC Switch is installed or ready to be installed.

Your network can access https://treerouter.com/.

2. Install Claude Desktop

Open the official Claude download page in your browser:

https://claude.com/download

Select the Windows version and follow the system prompts to complete the installation.

After installation, open Claude Desktop and confirm that the application starts normally.

If the application reports that it cannot connect, this is expected at this stage because the model service has not been configured yet. For now, you only need to confirm that the application opens successfully.

3. Install CC Switch

Follow the official TreeRouter guide to install CC Switch:

After installation, confirm that CC Switch opens normally. You will manually add a Claude provider configuration in CC Switch later.

4. Create a Token for Claude

Open the TreeRouter website and sign in:

https://treerouter.com/

After signing in, select Console > Token Management > Add Token.

Enter the following information on the token creation page:

Name: Enter an easily recognizable name, such as Claude Token.

Token Group: Select the group you want to use with Claude. Make sure it contains the Claude models you need.

Quota Settings: Set a quota based on your requirements. Leave the default settings if no quota restriction is needed.

Access Restrictions: Leave the default settings unless you have specific network access requirements.

After confirming the information, click Submit.

5. Copy the Token Key and Add the Claude Configuration

After the token is created, the token list will appear.

Find the token you just created. Click the Copy button next to Key in that token's row, then select Copy Key.

Open CC Switch, select the Claude Desktop icon at the top, and then click the plus (+) button in the upper-right corner.

On the provider page, click Custom Configuration.

Complete the custom configuration form as follows:

Provider Name: Enter an easily recognizable name, such as My Claude.

Notes: Optional. Enter a description of how the configuration will be used.

Website URL: Enter https://treerouter.com/.

API Key: Paste the key copied from the TreeRouter token list.

Request URL: Enter TreeRouter's Claude-compatible endpoint. Use the endpoint displayed on the page or in the screenshot.

After entering these details, expand Manually Specify Claude Desktop Model List (Advanced, Optional).

If the model list can be retrieved automatically, click Get Model List. Otherwise, click Add Model and manually add the model you want to use.

After adding the model, select it, such as claude-opus-4-8 in the screenshot, and click Add in the lower-right corner.

6. Enable the Configuration

After the provider is added, CC Switch returns to the provider list.

Find the configuration you just added, such as My Claude, and click Enable.

After enabling it, click the Connectivity Test button on the right side of the configuration.

If Connection Successful appears at the top of the page, the CC Switch configuration is working.

7. Verify Claude Desktop

Open Claude Desktop. You should now be able to access the conversation window normally. Create or open a conversation and send a test message.

If the model responds normally, Claude Desktop has been configured successfully.

8. Troubleshooting

The Configuration Cannot Be Added After Copying the Key

Make sure you selected Copy Key from the token list, not Copy Connection Information.

If CC Switch reports that the API key is incorrect, copy the key again and make sure it does not contain extra spaces or other characters.

The Connectivity Test Fails

Check the following:

The TreeRouter token is enabled.

The selected Claude model is available in the token group.

The configuration is enabled in CC Switch.

The Request URL is correct.

Your network can access https://treerouter.com/.

Claude Desktop Still Reports a Connection Failure

Make sure that the newly added Claude configuration is currently enabled in CC Switch, then run the Connectivity Test again.

After the test succeeds, reopen Claude Desktop or send the test message again.

Claude Desktop Still Uses the Default Service

Make sure that the Claude provider configuration in CC Switch is marked as In Use.

If multiple provider configurations exist, enable the TreeRouter Claude configuration you just added.
